The Morningstar EcoBoost MPPT EB-MPPT-20M is a 20 amp maximum power point tracking solar charge controller designed for 12V or 24V off-grid battery systems. It uses Morningstar's TrakStar MPPT technology to continually track the true maximum power point of the solar array as conditions change through the day, helping maximise energy harvest. Its built-in meter gives instant access to live and historical system performance data, making it well suited to remote power, RV, marine and off-grid installations that need dependable charge control.
Product Features:
- Delivers 20 amps of charge current with automatic 12V/24V system detection.
- Uses Morningstar's TrakStar MPPT technology to continuously track the true maximum power point of the solar array.
- Achieves up to 98 percent peak efficiency across low, medium and high power levels.
- Includes a built-in meter that displays current and historical system performance data.
- Provides two USB ports with 3 amps of shared charging capacity for mobile devices.
- Offers continuous self-diagnostics with status reporting through LEDs or the display.
- Can be configured as a lighting controller, switching the load at dusk and dawn using the PV array.
- Supports a programmable load disconnect to protect the battery when used as a load controller.
- Allows two solar modules wired in series to charge either a 12V or 24V battery system.
- Features a rugged, maintenance-free design with a conformally coated circuit board and corrosion-resistant terminals.
Application Areas:
- Off-grid solar power systems for cabins, remote sites and telecommunications installations.
- RV, caravan and marine battery charging from solar panels.
- Remote lighting systems where the controller switches loads at dusk and dawn.
- DC load control applications where loads are connected directly to the controller.
Selection & Installation Notes:
- Choose the EB-MPPT-20M where a built-in meter is needed to monitor system performance, as the standard EB-MPPT-20 does not include one.
- Confirm the solar array's open circuit voltage does not exceed 120 volts and that nominal operating power stays within 300W at 12V or 600W at 24V.
- Two solar modules can be wired in series to suit either a 12V or 24V battery bank.
- A remote temperature sensor accessory is available for temperature-compensated charging.
