Most vehicles end up with a forest of antennas because each system wants its own — VHF for the two-way, UHF for the fleet channel, another for cellular. The RFI CD40-148960-xx collapses that into one whip: it works across 148-174 MHz, 378–520 MHz and 698–960 MHz simultaneously, with no tuning, so a single 267 mm whip on a single NMO mount serves all three. This is the whip alone, to fit an NMO base you already have.
Available Options:
- CD40-148960-43 (NMO base, 5m cable)
- CD40-148960-11 (Whip only)
Product Features:
- Three bands at once: 148-174 MHz VHF, 378–520 MHz UHF and 698–960 MHz.
- Nominal gain 0 / 3.8 / 3.2 dBi across the three bands respectively.
- Full-band tuned — no field adjustment on any band.
- Flexible over-moulded 267 mm whip: survives car parks, branches and wash bays.
- 50 W rating; vertical polarisation; NMO mounting; supplied as whip only.
Application Areas:
- Fleet vehicles running two-way radio and cellular from one mount.
- Emergency services and utility vehicles with mixed VHF/UHF systems.
- Any vehicle where roof space allows only one antenna.
Selection & Installation Notes:
-
Ground dependent — unlike RFI's collinear range, the CD40 needs a metal ground plane. Mount it on the roof or bonnet, not on a fibreglass canopy or a bull bar bracket.
- Pick the VHF split first: this is the 148-174 MHz version. The other variant covers the alternative VHF band, and they are not interchangeable.
- The -11 is whip only and the -43 adds the NMO base and 5 m of cable — this one is whip only.
- Three bands on one feeder needs the radios kept apart: tell us what you are connecting and we will confirm the splitter or duplexer arrangement.
