The CD61 is the mopole you fit when the mounting surface is not on your side. It is
ground plane independent — it does not need a metal roof under it — so it performs on a bracket, a fibreglass canopy or a plant enclosure where a conventional whip would not. Full 380-470 MHz coverage with no tuning, and a highly flexible over-moulded whip that shrugs off what a rigid element would not survive. This is the N female bulkhead version — it mounts through a panel and takes a cable you terminate yourself.
Product Features:
- Full 380-470 MHz coverage, no field tuning required.
- 4.0 dBq nominal gain; VSWR <1.7:1 (380-400 MHz), <1.5:1 (400-470 MHz).
-
Ground plane independent — the reason to choose this over a conventional mopole.
- 276.6 mm highly flexible over-moulded whip; vertical polarisation.
- 25 W rating; N-type female bulkhead termination.
Application Areas:
- Commercial and government UHF fleets on mixed vehicle types.
- Plant, machinery and enclosures with no usable ground plane.
- Panel-mount installations where the antenna terminates directly at a bulkhead.
Selection & Installation Notes:
- This is a whip with a N-type female bulkhead — no cable is supplied. Order the feeder to suit your run.
- Match the band split to your licence: 380–470 and 450–520 MHz overlap but are separate parts, and the wrong one costs you VSWR.
- The N male (-60) and N female (-30) versions exist so you can avoid an adaptor. An adaptor is another joint, another failure point, and on a vehicle it will find the vibration.
- Ground-plane independence is the CD61's whole point — if you do have a good metal roof, a cheaper conventional mopole may serve. Ask us and we will say so.
