- The XRTG-EX2 gateway is designed to operate in the 2.4 GHz band, where coaxial cable losses can be significant.
- It repackages the Elite Gateway electronics into a weatherproof IP55-rated housing for external mounting.
- The external mounting allows for unobstructed placement, achieving range in excess of 700 meters in open environments.
- It provides improved in-building penetration compared to standard internally mounted gateways.
- Connection is made via a 5.2-meter shielded Cat 6 cable (XRTC-5.2) with a 6.0 mm outer diameter, similar to LMR200 coax.
- Both ends of the cable are pre-terminated for simplified installation, with replacement RJ45 plugs available if modification is needed.
- Compatible with IP65-rated bulkhead RJ45 connectors for watertight cable entry into vehicle cabins.
- The X10DR Secure Microphone charges using the X10DRMC mobile charger, which is mechanically similar to the standard Elite gateway cradle.
- Handset pairing is done by accessing the three internal pairing pins inside the XRTG housing or using the optional XRPC pairing cradle.
